Bengal Cat

Bengal cats became a breed by crossing Asian leopard cats with domestic cats.  These cats have a very unique color pattern and have a very striking appearance.  They have very soft fur with an athletic build.  They have beautiful bright eyes that have a mascara appearance that makes them really stand out.

The Bengal cat temperament is playful and gentle but also known as elegant and a bit conservative.  Bengals are intelligent and quite social. They really enjoy being a part of a family and they don’t have a fear of water.  They have been known to swim from time to time and they also enjoy climbing.  They are very good at keeping themselves occupied by playing with and hiding their toys.

The expected life span of  the Bengal cat is up to 13 yrs.  Cat health is the number one key to keeping him/her healthy, happy and long lived.  Preventative care is one of the best ways to keep them from developing serious problems down the road.  The female Bengal can get up to 13 lbs. and the male Bengal can weigh up to 22 lbs.  There are a few health issues that you want to keep an eye out for in your Bengal which are Cataracts, Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) and Cardiomyopathy.

Oriental Cat Breed

The Oriental cat breed is a very loyal and live for your attention.  They will have no problem at all letting you know when you have been ignoring them.  They have a very amusing personality that will keep you smiling.

Oriental cats have a long and sleek build but muscular.  They have short soft hair and are known for their very wide variety of color variations.  There are 300 different patterns and colors to be exact.  This cat breed is full of energy and needs it’s play time and exercise.  Oriental cats make great family companions and are good with kids as well.

As far as grooming goes, they don’t require a whole lot.  They do shed a little bit so brushing them weekly is required.  There aren’t any known diseases or ailments specific to the Oriental cat breed.  Oriental cats have a life expectancy of up to 15 years and their average weight is around 8 to 15 lbs.

If you are constantly on the go and don’t have a whole lot of time to give your Oriental cat, they may feel neglected and act out.  They need constant companionship whether it be from you or another cat.

Bombay Cats

Bombay Cat Breed

The Bombay cat breed is considered a very classy breed.  This breed originated in the U.S. and was granted Championship status in 1976 by the Cat Fancier’s Association. They have beautiful black fur and have a medium muscular build.  The head is more rounded and a bit larger than the rest of it’s body.  They have a medium length coat that is very sleek and thick.  Bombay’s have a very striking appearance so they are easy on the eyes.

Bombay’s are very affectionate and loyal companions.  They are very attached to their owners but not to the point of separation anxiety.  This cat breed prefers to be around human company rather than their favorite hiding spot if they have one.  Bombay cats are quite vocal when it comes to purring and does so often when giving and getting affection and attention.

The breed definitely prefers to be indoors but isn’t opposed to going outside, they would just rather be spending their time with you.   Bombay’s are very easily leash trained so if you wanted to walk them outside, they would love it.  They love to play games and have wonderful and funny personalities that will keep you entertained.

The breed is generally healthy and doesn’t have a list of any specific illnesses to worry about or look out for.  Bombay cats are expected to live for as long as 15 years and some have been known to live as long as 20 years.  These cats are known to be intuitive and can sense your emotions.  If you are in need of a fun loving and loyal  companion, a Bombay would be a perfect fit.
